About The Kimoja Initiative
The Kimoja Initiative is a purpose-driven collaboration founded by husband and wife team Jason and Tashawna, who bring over 35 years of combined experience in educational leadership, creative development, and coaching. Their shared mission: to empower individuals and communities through intentional growth, legacy-rooted education, and life design.
Jason Rogers, M.S. Ed., is an 18-year education veteran with experience as a teacher, assistant principal, principal, and state-level leader in educational improvement. His work has focused on culturally responsive education, leadership development, student achievement systems, and restorative practices. He has trained hundreds of educators in equity-based teaching and led transformative initiatives—including the development of sensory rooms, student leadership programs, and districtwide behavior and instructional systems. As a presenter, mentor, and recipient of the Emerald Apple Award for Leadership, Jason’s work blends strategic thinking with heart-centered service to communities.
Tashawna is a 20-year creative force with a background in design, photography, entrepreneurship, and coaching. Her work in planner design and life coaching centers on helping individuals cultivate clarity, intentionality, and personal growth. Through customized tools and guided reflection, she helps clients align their lives with purpose and legacy.
Together, they founded The Kimoja Initiative to reflect their values, heritage, and a unified approach to growth—educational, personal, and collective.
Legacy-driven. Purpose-led. Unified by design.
